More Social Networking Icons/Buttons/Badges - AddThis!

After the success of our previous article, Get Social Networking icons/buttons/badges on your site!, we have decided to follow up with another quick piece in a similar vain.

This piece is perhaps even easier than the last, in that it only requires going to one site and implementing one piece of code!

The site: AddThis! - Social Bookmark and Feed Button Builder.

Like some of the other sites we looked at last time, AddThis allows you to select the type of button you want and then gives you the code you require to put it on your site. Simple!

First you are going to want to register with AddThis. Once you have gone through the necessary steps to register and are logged in, you are ready to get your button.

On the homepage, click on the "Get Your Button" button. You will be taken to the next screen where you can select the type of button you want - a social bookmarking button or an RSS Feed button.

Next, select the style of button you want from the options provided.

And finally select the type of site where you will be placing it. This will ensure you are given the most appropriate code.

Once you have made your choices, click the "Get Your Free Button" button.

AddThis then offer two versions of the code - one for just a plain button and the second for a dropdown version of the widget.

The code you get will be customised with your username so you can check your statistics later on through AddThis. We will not display the code here as there is no need for it to be customised and as we said, it is specific to you. Simply pasting it into your page will give you the functioning button you are after.
